Decompression Therapy

The Lordex Procedure for Decompression Therapy is the safe, painless, non-surgical choice for the treatment of the most common causes of low back pain, including:Table_and_dr.jpg

Lordex Lumbar Decompression is an advanced non-surgical system for treating disabling low back pain.  It is accomplished with computer-guided equipment designed to unload the spine and create a negative pressure, or vacuum, within a herniated/bulging disc, drawing the disc off pain sensitive nerves and the spinal cord.   Clinical results indicate 86% or more of people suffering from the common causes of low back pain gain relief with the application of non-surgical disc decompression.1  The procedure takes place during a series of 20 to 30 half-hour treatments over the course of 10 to 12 weeks.

By using protocols developed at the Lordex Spine Institute in Houston, Texas, and the Health Services Center at the University of Texas, precise angles are used during the unloading procedure to create negative intradiscal pressure. This not only draws the disc material back into a more normal alignment, but also draws fluids, nutrients and oxygen into the disc to hydrate and nourish the damaged and often desiccated annulus.

The patient is fitted with uAubrey_on_Rx1_for_web.jpgpper and lower harnesses specifically designed to surround the involved disc, and then comfortably placed onto the treatment table in a supine position.  A knee support is placed under the legs for additional comfort, and the harnesses are attached to the Lordex Decompression Unit (LDU).   At this point, the technique setting are logged into the unit's computer and the patient is invited to relax with the sounds of a meditative surf using Holisync Technology.2

This painless procedure decompresses the nerve roots and promotes healing.  The therapy has been proven safe and effective in both medical and chiropractic clinics throughout the United States.  The procedure should not be confused with conventional spinal traction.  Spinal traction cannot produce decompression that is the result of distraction and positioning of the intervertebral discs and facet joints.

In addition (and only offered with the Lordex Procedure), is the Strength Restoration Unit (Rx1), which is utilized to exercise and stabilize the key muscles that hold the correction in place and provide long-lasting pain relief and better spinal function.  Together, this technological breakthrough along with advanced chiropractic techniques, physical therapy, and nutritional guidance, offers patients with painful herniated discs an effective alternative to drugs and surgery.
